Made from a Jacob Sheep fleece from a farm in Maryland that Sarah purchased from Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival in 2022, the proceeded to wash, drum card, and spin into a two-ply woolen yarn. She then designed a weaving pattern to echo the stripes and shape of a Barred Owl feather, and wove it on her 4 harness floor loom in her home studio. Infused with the idea of terroir as related to working with natural elements found in her Chesapeake fibershed, this scarf is truly an exceptional work of wearable art.
